Sales/Marketing Assistant

Our 34 year old north shore window covering company requires the expertise of a qualified sales professional. This energetic, efficient, trustworthy, and punctual individual will be involved with the sales of custom window coverings, bedding, and upholstery products. The successful candidate must have superior interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills (both verbal and written command of the English language is a requirement). Memory and multi tasking skills are a must. This person will be able to work well under extreme pressure and unexpected deadlines.

Laursen & Son Draperies and Blinds; therefore, you must be able to work with patience and understanding with some of our more difficult clients. You must be excellent with colors and the coordinating of them (there will be a test as a part of the interviewing process).

Job description

You will be involved in the entire Sales process, from new business generation, prospecting and cold calling to closing the sale. You will also be provided with qualified leads. There are monthly sales targets for both new business and for the qualified leads. To be successful, you will be ambitious and results driven, confident and professional.

 

-On site consultations, measuring and estimating (must always be punctual)

-follow up calls on both pending and completed sales

-Increasing revenue and profitability

-Securing client relationships

-Over the phone quotations

-Identifying potential lead and call sources

-Identifying, contacting and cold calling key decision makers

-learning the many details of all of our products

-providing top quality customer service

-other general sales duties

Qualifications

You should have 3-5 years selling experience in an outside sales capacity. Experience in the window covering business is an asset.

Not absolutely necessary, but ideally, you possess a university degree or diploma in business with a marketing emphasis. This individual must have strong personal, computer and memory skills. You must have an excellent telephone manner and must be able to cold call. You must also possess a high energy level and be a self starter. An excellent eye for color and coordination of color is a must. A computer, color and memory test are mandatory and are a part of the interviewing process. You must be familiar with Microsoft outlook, word, and excel.

You must have your own vehicle. This vehicle must be rust free, presentable and able to carry a large quantity of sampling. You must be well dressed (business casual to business formal)

Success in this position requires an individual who has both a passion for prospecting and a focus on customer service. You must be honest and punctual with a very strong work ethic.
