Re-upholstery can make that old piece of furniture look new again. There are a few rules with upholstery though.

 

You do have to consider that the piece of furniture has to

1. Be picked up, and stripped down to the bare frame. This involves the removal of a countless number of staples.

2. The frame is then tightened and adjusted so that it does not “creek “or move when sat in.

3. We would replace springs and cushions as necessary (using the highest quality available)

4. The chair is measured so that it can be reconstructed to its original specifications (or customized to your specifications). This involves a great deal of measuring, cutting, matching repeats and sewing.

5. The chair is then reassembled to come without any puckering either at the seams or edges.

Though sometimes more expensive than purchasing new furniture, the benefits to reupholstering are as follows:

1. You have chosen the exact fabric that is right for your decor.

2. You do not have to search from store to store to find a piece that is not only the right color for the room, but also the right size.

3. You know that it is a comfortable piece and will be for many more years to come.
