VALANCES

We have had the same workroom for over 25 years and are more than confident in their abilities. If you see something you like in a magazine, we can make it! You may also want to consider sheer fabrics for some of the valances that we offer. A sheer can keep the look light and refreshing in a room that you do not want the clutter of a heavier drapery material.

Enhance the look and feel of any room with one of our many styles of decorative valances and drapery treatments. Feel the added warmth and coziness a soft fabric will give to your interior. We have covered many existing valance boards with swags and many other types of top treatments. Whether you want a new valance or wish to cover and existing one, we have the expertise. Many of our clients have found that often the cost of covering an existing valance with fabric is less expensive but more aesthetically pleasing than tearing it out. The end result is a room with a soft fabric valance and not just a bare wall that needs to be covered.

We have many years of experience in choosing styles, colors, and textures. Let us help you put that problem room together with our free in home estimates.

Wrap around swag valance with bishop sleeves
Swags
There are many different variations of the swag valance. Some of the more popular styles are sheer, solid, wrap around (sewn), and wrap around (unsewn). These are only a few of our styles, and we are capable of creating custom swag valances to your exact specifications.

Pinch pleated valance
Pinch Pleated
The three pronged pinch pleated heading is very common for valances as well as draperies. This is a particularily attractive style whether the bottom hem is straight, arched,or scalloped.

Double Queen Anne valance
Double Queen Anne
This valance features two pinch pleats side by side with a scalloped bottom edge in between each set of double pleats. This style of valance has most definately passed the test of time.

Box pleated valance with banding
Box Pleated
This valance is best described as a simple and geometric style. The look is more or less flat with rectangular boxes that can run either vertically, or horizontally. Decorative rope pipings, shaped bottoms, and bandings are often added to match with existing accent colors or architectual features within the room.

Kingston Valance
Kingston
A more casual and relaxed version of the swag valance. This style incorporates cravates or jabots in between each swag. The Kingston is a soft, subtle valance that is often very easy to work with in difficult corner or bay windows.

Double continental valance
Continental & Shirred
Another casual style of valance that has many variations (single, double, pouff, scalloped etc.). A pocket is sewn and the material is pulled or sheered over a rod at double or triple fullness. These valances are excellent for kitchens, bathrooms, and under the right circumstances living rooms.

Cornice box
Cornice Box
Commonly referred to as a padded valance, the cornice box is basically wood covered with foam and fabric. The visual interest is gained through the use of an unlimited choice of shaped bottoms and contrasting pipings. They tend to be a simple and unobtrusive solution for many windows.

Balloon valance
Balloon Valance
Commonly referred to as a cloud or pouff valance, the balloon is very soft and full. They are usually double fullness in the width and triple fullness in the length. They can be sewn as a regular or box pleated balloon. The box pleated version offers a more uniform vertical fold with a little less fullness in the width. (Usually good for a living, or dining room)
